I just picked up a full can of pyrodex RS still sealed unopened. It might be 20 years old I dont know the sticker has it marked $16.95. Will this stuff last if stored a long time unopened and sealed? Does it loose power? Thanks, Craig.

Pyrodex here is just $14.00 a lb today so it might not be that old. I have some 6 years old and it is still perfect... I have heard nay-sayers claim it looses its ooomph but have not experianced it nor heard any factual data to support it either. I would think that baring drawing moisture it should last a LONG time...

I shot some Pyrodex from the mid eighties. It worked fine. Just had to shake the can very hard to get rid of the lumps.

I've got some from late 80's shoot it for plinking, still works OK for that.I hate to clean up after it though.

$54 a pound! :shocked2: I just placed an order for a mixed ten pound lot through our local ML club and was grousing about $23.95 a pound. I will never again complain about the cost of powder.

I was about to say that your club price seems high to me but then I saw where you are! I wonder why you pay such a high price taking modern transportation into consideration. Does UPS deliver there? Geo. T.

$54 per pound! i just picked up 10 pounds of KIK real BP for $171.00 shipped from powderinc.com.

Bass Pro Shop lists it at $21.95, of course they don't have any since the hoarders bought it all!

Does that bug you too?

It irritates me when someone comes in and buys up everything the store has on hand when I know there is no way in hell they really need all of it. :(

I call it the "Selfish Syndrome" where "Me First and ta hell with the rest of you" is the motto of the day. :shake:

Yes, UPS delivers here but air only. Ist, 2nd or 3rd day air charges are outrageous and powder can't be shippped by air. The $23.95 per pound reflects a powder cost of about $17 a pound. The rest is shipping and hazmat. There's just no way around the high cost of shipping to Alaska. :cursing:
