Well the wife and I just finshed our big trip to the east coast and the New England area,(what a area full of history) :applause:
Boston, Yorktown, Philadelphia, Williamsburg, Valley Forg, Ect., we went up past fort William Henery.
On the way back to Sunny/dry Calif., I stopped at Dixie Gun Works in Union City, TN. to look over thier stock of 50cal flint pistols. the Queen Anne mfg. by Pedersoil caught my eye and the price was within the wife's limit on my next bp gun, so one is being shipped to me.
Question ::? is there any tips on building this kit and will it be a fun smoker. :D

hey wcbpg"s,i put this kit together about 8 years ago.
it was easy to do. i added some carving, engraving and
wire inlay. turned out nice.one thing, the one lock
screw goes through the breech and a woob screw in the
lock front. i soldered on a lug and pinned it just in
front of the wood screw. after the kit was together
the barrel had a lot of play,up and down, reason i added
the under lug fixed the problem. the kit doesn"t come
with this lug so you'll have to make or buy, up to you
later, wpalongrifle

Westcoast: I built one about 9 years ago and found it to be real easy.
In keeping with the period, I polished the barrel and lock leaving them "in the white" but it would look good either browned or blued.
I'm sure tg will correct me if I'm wrong, but blueing or leaving it "in the white" was often done on the 1700-1730 period in Europe.

Hope yours has as nice a piece of Walnut as mine did.
The picture really doesn't do it justice but it does have a lot of contrasting dark/light streaks in the wood.

I haven't shot it much because at least for me, a sightless smoothbore with a flinch-lock truly prooves how much I have to work on with my shooting. ::

It does make a beautiful gun! I really like the Brass Gargoyle grip-cap too. Just imagine leaving the impression of that on the foe's forhead. Might ruin his whole day! :shocking:

Happy Building!

zonie; that is one fine looking Queen Anne :applause:' hope the one I get turns out half as good looking.
