I hit the range this morning with a batch of 300 and 380 grain .54 caliber R.E.A.L.'s lubed with liquid alox.
I've heard many pro's and con's about using alox so I had to try it myself.
I was impressed. The 300 grainers shot o.k. but not too impressive. 4-5 inch group at 50 yards with 100 grains of Pyro RS.
The 380 grainers where awesome. 1 1/2 inch group at 50 yards.
Fouling was very minimal and very easy to clean. I found no evidence of leading in the bore so far.
As most know, the Lee R.E.A.L. has very shallow lube grooves and are pretty hard to lube.
I highly recommend liquid alox to lube these with.
All you do is put them in a baggie or small plastic dish, squirt in some alox and tumble them to coat them thoroughly. Set them on waxed paper overnight and you're all set to shoot.
