FYI its raining pretty hard in the area. I'm about 40 miles from there and I'm darned familiar with the area. Flood warnings are out.

If you are going some distance better call someone. Its not good right now.

I hate to see it rained out and I hate to get the NMLRA and Friendship critics started early but it is what it is. Wet.

I live 20 miles north of Friendship, but what falls here ends up in Laughery Creek it rained here steady up until about 10:30 AM and has been partly cloudy since.
I haven't heard of any problems along Laughery Creek in Friendship, but that don't mean there hasn't been any.
I'll give it a try again in the morning.

Wayne

EDIT: State Police haven't had any reports of flooding as of 4:17 EDT.

That sounds good. It really came down here and of course my electric went out again.

It looks like the rain predicted for this afternoon broke up some. Hope that helps.

Wayne you are right about Laughery creek. I've been fishin' there for 50 yrs. More than once it started coming up {below Friendship} and there was no rain at all there, just upstream.

That valley has some miserable humidity when its hot and rainy. Hope they dodge it. I'll go Monday.

I was there all day today, from 6 am to about 3 pm. It rained lightly at 6, then started to rain heavily for about an hour, then alternating light and heavy with a few minutes of very heavy until about 1 pm. Then the sun came out (kinda somewhat) and the temp went up to 90. The firing line was open all day, even in the primitive area, although very few shooters. About half the vendors on Commercial Row were open. Hot, humid, oppressive, but still fun. Laughry Creek was up about 2 feet but stable when I left. All roads were open.

I was shooting all morning, on the offhand line, from 8:30 till 11:00 except during time of lightning delay. They should give us a die hard award :haha: A bad day shooting is better than a good day at work :v I hope Thursday is a better day :idunno:

I have been camping there since last Friday. All the storms were a pain but the Laughery did not flow out of it's banks at the NMLRA grounds. Some of the Flea Market folks had to bail out when it swamped their ground in town though. It has been hot during the day, but when the sun goes down it has been cool enough that I have been sleeping under two wool blankets.

All in all the weather is the usual for this time of year.

Many Klatch
