basically whatever holds all your stuff and meets any other needs you have such as Pc or not. I have seen and used anything from a tool or tackle box to homeade, to puches, etc. On guy i know made a nice one out of metal, he works with sheet metal it is unique.

Hi Mule Brain, I used my old machinist box untill the bottom drawer fell apart here a while back. It worked well and could hold most everything you need. I had bought my son a cheeper knock-off version of the machinist box a while back from Harbour Freight, another Chinese parts seller like Wall Mart. Since he isn't shooting much with me right now I am using it presently and it is working fine for now. Basically the same as my old machinist box but without the quality oak wood and the quality of craftsmanship.

I carry everything that i need to shoot in my shooting bag. I have a bag for just about every rifles that I own. makes it a lot easier for me to just grab the gun and bag that I want to shoot.

Heres one I threw together a while back out of a piece of warped cherry that I had kicking around.I have to find some better looking hardware one of these days. There are three removeable drawers on the right shift around to reveal a space on the bottom for patches and ball.I keep these in tupperware containers as I precut and prelube my patches. Not HC but works nice !!!

Hi there, I don't shoot from a box any more, but I did see something new (at least to me) on someone improving a shooting box. He had a spot in or outside the box where he could shove his loading rod. Instead of leaning it up aganst the table. It just stuck up from his box into the air. For some reason I like that, but still don't like hauling all that out for a shoot. Just pack extra guns, and if one goes down grab another and keep shooting, and fix it after the shooting is over.

This is another of my boxes, won this as a raffel at our Spring Shoot a coupla years ago, its a couple inches shorter all the way around than the first box. I pack all my gear to and from the shoot in my boxes then load my bag from the box, works for me.

Ihave always used the barrel of my rifle to carry my " extra " range rod when going from the car to the firing line at the club. Carrying the rest of my stuff in the range box goes in my other hand. Some guys make a notched wooden fitten screwed to the outside to act as a barrel rest. I usg move the box out so that a corner of the box is over one edge of the loading bench, and rest my barrel in that corner.
