Do y'all think it's doable to take a 1" 50cal T/C Hawken barrel, cut it down to a pistol barrel length, rebore it to 54cal, and make it a 1:30 twist?
Reason would be for a T/C Hawken Pistol as my mockup picture shows.

I would but those only go up to .50cal.
Ahhh.....good point.

But I will tell you that I shoot a 12" barreled flintlock pistol. With 50gr 3F shooting a Hornady Pa Conical....the recoil is quite stout.

A .54 cal barrel would be lighter than a 50 cal (less metal....bigger bore) and would likely be "more stouter". I hope you're young and have thick wrist!!

50 caliber T/C Hawken barrels are 15/16”, not 1”. Unless you have a 50 caliber T/C Renegade barrel, which are 1” ATFs.

No worries. Let's put it this way...I'm a former college football offensive lineman. 😁. Besides, look at the quote on my profile. "Big Bores Matter"

Save your money and buy a new barrel made for a pistol

Rice pistol barrels are up to 12" long and cost between $130-$150
Won't be saving much but OTOH, Rice will probably do the barrel at 54 but the breech plug is gonna gitcha!

Hoyt can rebore it to 54

Yep, correct for an 15/16” barrel, and he will take a T/C 1” ATF barrel to 58 caliber rifled or 60 caliber smoothbore.

OP was asking about a reboring of a 50 caliber T/C Hawken barrel 1” ATF that doesn’t exist, unless he has a Renegade barrel to work with.

Strange that his profile says "Big Bores Matter" but he is only looking at a 54 caliber, kind of a midrange caliber for muzzleloaders.

😆😆😆 All in perspective my friend.

Well, 25 bucks with your BP or 25 to install his.

If you watch track you can get the breech plugs on and off. If you stick with your tc barrel you will already be breeched.
