I had an opportunity to shoot a beautiful custom flintlock longrifle from Red Jacket Muzzleloading in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This rifle is made in the Christian Springs school of gun making, so it is an early, 1750 to 1770 style rifle. The 38-inch, .58 caliber, swamped rifle barrel is very accurate and the entire rifle balances beautifully. I thought I'd give you a little taste of how it does at the range in this video.

And here are a few pictures for eye candy:

Man, that's a real looker! Tasteful carving and I love the orange-rust stain that was used.

Well thank you guys, I spent some time on this rifle. I really appreciate the kind words :)

I have seen several other guns made by Mr. Hadden of Red Jacket, but I did not know that he made such fine black powder guns, though not surprised.
I would like to see more, of his stuff.
Thank you for showing this video.
Best regards
Fred

Really beautiful rifle, and a fun video. Re the "biker look" manure, Samuel Brady, of Fort Pitt Ranger fame, wore a black bandana head cover. It was his signature look.

Very pretty rifle- wall hanger or shooter, or do you know? Good video. Congratulation on your honesty on the 'second call' at that 150yd. plate- you are right @ the low left bunker impact. :hatsoff:

Beautiful rifle. I do wish more of this and guns for the regular guy had been featured on the show. That and less antagonism between characters and the show would still be with us. IMHO.

Hi duelist, learned a lot from you.
Keep doing what you do.
