I think that they call it red resin in the US.
It's a resin that sweats out of these grass treeshttps://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FXanthorrhoea&psig=AOvVaw3VK7LXcr77o7tSyJ7p-fu4&ust=1671087694456000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CA0QjhxqFwoTCIjvyvXE-PsCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAD during a bushfire. I dries to easily crushed balls.
It is soluble in turpentine and, i think alcohol.
I like to oil finish my stocks, ie, working up the surface with 800 grit paper and oil mixed with this resin in turps.
If you put it straight on raw white wood it will turn a bright pink, but if used on an established base color it will produce strong red tones.
I have some, i pick it up just walking in the bush.
Anybody want some?
