I can offer payment plans/layaway on this and any guns I have listed for sale. This is, I believe, the perfect transitional late fur trade, early plains Rifle. It is a .54 percussion Virginia rifle with a 31.75" x1" barrel. Easy to imagine some trapper, scout or guide having his flintlock longrifle converted to the new fangled percussion system and shortened for ease of use on horseback. The rifle was built by Jack Garner, possibly with this concept in mind. The rifle is in excellent condition and seemingly fired very little. The 1:66 bore is sharp and mirror bright. The Maple stock is kind of plain and has a 14" LOP. Ramrod missing screw on tip. $790 + SHIPPING
