Other buyer had to back out. It happens. Back up for your consideration is a nice flintlock .50 Austin Halleck mountain rifle. I have always thought these were one of the prettiest production muzzleloaders out there. Like the girl in Dick Tracy, it Sparkle Plenty. Twist in the 32" barrel is sloooooow. I got 1/4 turn in 32". That seems wrong, so I will say 1:66. Bright shiny bore. Barrel made in Spain . Has a couple of scuffs on barrel. I am thinking cement shooting bench mishap. They look just like the ones on my 1860 Henry that suffered same fate. Otherwise, good plus condition. Full buckhorn rear sight. Stock has some minor scratches. $600 + Shipping.

These are 'full bore' to the breech guns too, not a patent breech. Excellent locks too, geometry and quality of build! Had one, sooooo much better than a T/C Hawken or Lyman GPR ... only sold it as it was RH'd and I'm a lefty and am now procuring or making lefties for myself.

IMO, this is an opportunity to acquire a very nicely-designed factory rocklock.

I've had two of those wonderful A&H Mountain Rifles, one with their 1:28" fast twist and the other with their 1:66" slow twist (both of which had the twist rate marked on the barrel).

Both had surprisingly (to me) fast ignition times, much faster than any of my cap guns - and were very accurate.

If I was able to get out shooting/hunting like I used to when I was younger, I'd be on this like stink on a skunk
