This pistol appears to have been a typical Tower Land Pattern percussion pistol. Barrel and lock are correct, as is the stock - mostly. I say mostly because close inspection indicates a period stock, but the butt is "off." I wonder if it was damaged and some enterprising modern person "fixed" it? Mechanically works well. Nipple comes out. Breech is pretty clean. Bore is 3/4", more or less. It is a little pitted, but very shootable. Be a good belt or saddle pistol for Confederate cavalryman or frontiersman. $400 SHIPPED..

I wish I had some musket caps and proper sized balls to fire it. Not sure the threads will take a modern nipple, but the original looks really good. May take a bronze brush on drill to bore tomorrow. Does not look bad and I shoot muzzleloading shotguns that look worse.

Is this an Afghan reproduction?

If so any prospective owner who plans to shoot it, please have it professionally inspected or proofed first.
I do not think so. I put a query on collector page and consensus is original with composite modification(s). Breech plug area in particular looks correct. I just need some ca. 70 cal balls and musket caps to test fire, something not readily available near me.

I agree, the outer appearance of your pistol makes it appear to have been reasonably well cared for.
Some of the old European military surplus flint & percussion surplus era firearms I've seen that are surfacing out of now vintage Asian armories appear to have been stored in rain barrels.
And it is quite possible that thIs is an Afhgan war bring back. I am sure that everyone in the country dragged out gggrandpa's guns, cleaned them up and sold them to Americans in the local markets.
