I think ya did a superb job, in restoring it & it documenting it.   :thumbsup:


One question in the beginning:


" The lock and drum are from circa 1850, but the screws were all hand-made using a screw plate, and date from well before 1840. "


Why does this surprise you ?  This gunmaker used a screwplate made years before, which indicated to me he had some old tools & knew how to use them, they worked & were more than adequate for the build.


But as I said, wonderful job.
