Does anyone have actual knowledge of a reliable source for closely woven linen +-0.014 for patching.
I've used the internet. Got some great Irish linen 3 years ago from Denver Fabrics. Closely woven, 0.014" then went to reorder and they've had nothing approaching that quality ever sense.
Most of the linen described as "medium" weight approaches the right thickness but is too loosely woven to serve as patching material. "Heavy" weight linen is so loosely woven you can see right through it.
Why linen rather than ticking or something similar in cotton? I just like working with it.
