Remember the ones at the booths in the restaurants??? Every booth had one connected to the main machine .

S'poke, Much bigger not really portable. These old guys used to plug them in! No bateries! Can you imagine such things? Good thing we didn't have to grow up in those dark ages.

Musketman is right. It use to be a dude with a harmonica, jaw-harp, washboard and a lot of toe tapping. After a few swigs of ale, everything sounds like Beethoven composed and conducted it.
