This is a range video and table top on my Remington model 1858. I wanted to make a video for people who are thinking about getting a Cap and ball gun. I'm no expert on them but I shoot my M1858 in my videos a lot and get quite a few questions about it. I think more people should give the cap and ball revolvers a shot. Now please don't freak out about me saying the Remington 1858 is better for someone who is just getting stated with BP revolvers than the Colt 1851. I've owned a colt 1851 and I just think for a new shooter the Remington is going to be easier to maintain, shoot and shoots better out of the box. I actually traded my Colt because It didn't shoot very well. Had I known how to modify the sight to get it to shoot on target like i do now I would not have traded it but for someone just starting out modifying the rear sight might be too much work and turn them away from these guns.
