I'm sure the info that I need is in here someplace but I couldn't locate it. I need to know how Remington caps perform compared to what CCI offers.

Can't say anything about the Remington caps as I started with the CCI #11 mag caps and they worked so good with Triple seven 2f that I saw no reason to try anything else. Hope some of the others who have tried the Remingtons will jump in here.

They fit a little loose on my Pietta 58 Remmy with factory nipples. Had a few back up some on the nipples during firing but none came off. Out of two cylinders full had one misfire but it may have not been seated fully. Did have one fragment and jam up the action. CCI's fit snug, no misfires, no backing off the nipples, no jams. That's after a couple hundred rounds. RWS fit really tight, have to use a lil pressure to fully seat but no problems. I like CCI best.

Remingtons work the best for me, I have yet to have a misfire with them. CCI's it seems like i'll get one or two misfires out of a tin, and i get an occasional misfire with the RWS caps, but as stated in an earlier post, they seem to fit on the tight side, and that may be due to not getting them fully seated on the nipple.
CCI magnums, I get alot of misfires, and the magnums open up my groups some, I guess my rifle doesnt like the hotter ignition from the magnum cap.
I get the best accuracy with the Remingtons.

JCW,
I have never used Remington, but swear by
CCI magnums. They work great for me.IMO
snake-eyes :hmm:

I have tried both and to date I don't see alot of difference. Individual guns may seem to like one better than the other! I use which ever I can get my hand on at the time, as I have seen no appreciable difference in performance.

I can't compare them to CCI but I have used nothing but Remington caps since I started muzzleloading and I have NEVER had a Remington cap fail.

Same for me. I use the Remington caps without any problems.

I like both and use both. Can't tell a bit of difference performance wise. The Remingtons are easier to squeeze tight onto a loose fitting nipple. Most recently I am able to get Remington easier (that is, Dicks actually had two tins on the shelf through some oversight).

The only problem I have had with Remington #11's since 1976 was that I have had at least two that the primer foil disc has fallen out (or possibly they slipped through manufacturing that way). Because of that I am in the habit of looking into the primer cup before placing it on the nipple.

I too use whatever I can get my oily little fingers on. In fact, I recently got a plastic bag of misc. caps from God knows where but they shoot like the dickens!

I use both but prefer the Remington. The CCI are more readily available here but I have had many missfires with them. And they are kinda loose on my Paterson!

Thanks all, for the information. The new Sportsman's Warehouse stocks Remington for a lot less than CCI. I'll pick some up to try. Jeff.
