I bought a videocam at one of the local pawn shops. Then brought it to the range with my 16 year old son and we took turns taking shots with the Pietta Remington and filming each other.
We made some loud booms and clouds of smoke using American Pioneer 3F Powder and then finished up by sunset.
I really like how well the camera's audio resonates.

Fun times.

Watching the smoke, it becomes obvious that after a couple of shots, a poker table would be difficult to see across.

My son seemed to enjoy shooting the C&B revolver a lot more than a muzzle loading rifle. He thought that the rifle was too slow to load, at least when compared to center fire guns anyway.
But by using a loading press, pill bottles filled with pre-measured powder charges and an extra cylinder, a lot more shots can be fired quickly and without needing to reload.
More shots equals more enjoyment for the youngsters, and for many of us oldsters too!
At least now he's more impressed with the performance of black powder guns much more so than he was before trying out the revolver.
