Howdy, Just wondering if there's anyone located near the Fayettville or Fort Smith area of NW Arkansas that would want to help me start a Rendezvous for early spring this coming year(2014)? I just started Buckskinning 4 years ago and have really wanted to attend a rendezvous but they all seem to be really far north. If you live close and would like to see a rendezvous come within driving range please leave a comment. This would be a good chance to trade some the the things you've made, sell items and probably shoot in some competitions. I'd like to keep it small and traditional and rather not have the public crowd in. Let me know what you think and feel free to speak other ideas that you think might make if better.

Hey Buddy. I don't live close but I commend you on trying to get one started. Don't get discouraged. We definitely need more traditional rendezvous' in this country.

Jeff

When someone is usually starting one where do you go to look for a good location? How do you decide on when to shoot, run or play mountain music? How do you get the word out?
Thanks, I do agree there should be more Rendezvous where its just a group of old timers in the woods, not some modern public "carnival" of people dressed like mountain folk.

There's guys on here from the Berryville area and I think they have shoots and outtings quite often. I suggest you try to get in touch with some of them.

Two shoots a year. They are not rendezvous and even the 'primitive' aspect has dropped off the schedule. Next shoot is 26 thru 29 this month. Good event. Contact me if you want more info.
There is an annual SW Regional rondezvous that is often in Arkansas but has been held in Oklahoma and Texas. They have a Yahoo group for info. Always a good event,if weather cooperates. The Early Arkansas Reenactors Association has several events a year. Great organization and great people. Google for their web site. There are a couple 'sorta' rendezvous in SW Missouri each year. I have never attended but can get you the info.

Thanks for the information. I had no Idea there where even a few groups around here, Ill look into the SW Regional Rendezvous a little more.
