I guess I'm talking to myself again, but it's time to put out the word again.

There hasn't been a post on the Southwest area since my last one.

Where are the buckskinners!

Texas Free Trappers Rendezvous XIX (that's 19!)
will be on November 7-10.

It's on a nice 200 acre site near Shiner, Texas,
home of the famous brewery.

Plenty of competition is available but not mandatory. Prizes are awarded for each....not an aggregate scoring.

I might have to suit up and attend. Lot of good peoples involved with the SW ronny. Don't know where I'll camp, sold my lodge several years ago.

One more invitation to buckskinners and/or shooters
who don't participate in living history type events. Three groups have joined and offer 4 rendezvous and 12 monthly black powder shooting matches. The rendezvous take place on the second full weekends of February, April, October and November on a 400 acre site near Shiner, Texas.

The monthly matches are held on the fourth Saturdays of each month on a 400 acre site near Canyon Lake, Texas. Period dress is not required.

from be bang I was looking for info. on rendezvous in Fort Davis. the last one was in May. I took sick and could not go. would be happy for any info on this or other events.

The single best source of info on events that I know of is the newspaper "Smoke & Fire" which is about 85% notices of events nationwide for various eras.

I'm a member of the Aurora Blackpowder Club and we are having our fall rendezvous Oct 18 - 20 in Aurora
TX. And there is the Ranger Springs Skinners rendezvous in early Nov. near Decature.

The 36th Southwestern Regional Rendezvous is March 14-21 2020 between Henderson and Carthage, Texas, which is in NE Texas. Same site as the 2016 SWRR. Bring plenty powder, ball, shot.
