Just purchased a really nice T/C Renegade stock on another forum and now searching for a barrel for it. Thinking a Green Mountain with a faster twist than the 1:48 . Anyone know of a good source?

Doesn't look like there is any such animal out there, GMs are 1 in 70. Your best and only bet would be to buy a roached out Renegade barrel and have it rebored to be a fast twist barrel.

You could have the barrel custom made, the Gun Works offers this service for drop ins but at $350 a pop that is a lot of money to put in a Renegade.

Yes, but a roached our Renegade barrel for $85 and a $160 (estimated) rebore puts you close to that $350. The advantage of getting a roached out Renegade barrel is that it will fit the Renegade stock (T/C stock for a 1" across the flats barrel) and have sights, under rib and thimbles.

Those barrels do exist. Green Mountain made the LRH fast twist. 50 cal is 1-28 and the 45 is 1-30. They drop in to renegade stock. You may have to do just a little fitting for match up to the hook area of the breech. They pop up from time to time on here as well as other auction sites. Some sellers believe they are made of gold and price is.... well...elevated.

By all means, put an ad in the want ads part of the forum and somebody will be along.

A couple of years ago, I sent Rice a Renegade breech plug and he fit it to a new barrel and cut sight dovetails for me. It is a very good shooter.

Might be a silly question but has anyone ever tried putting a 15/16" across the flats barrel into a Renegade stock. I'm thinking with maybe a Hawken tang and glass bed the stock might work?

GM made drop ins in 45 50 and 54 cal. I know the 50 and 54 are 1-28 twist I've got those. Not sure of the 45 cal twist? Idaho Ron would know.

TOTW has the 50 cal GM listed but backordered

I contacted TOTW and the are not going to do any of the 1" across the flats for the Thompson Center only the 15/16" for now. They are on backorder as you stated. So that is why I was wondering if putting the 15/16" in the Renegade that was set up for 1" would work? I'm just not having much luck finding someone that wants to give up their 1" barrel and sell it to me.

I have glass bedded several rifles before that turned out really well. Just didn't know if I'm missing something
