I'm new here, and hoping I'm posting in right section. I've had to change to lighter, shorter smokepole because of new limitations. Traditions 50 cal percussion Deerhunter. Last health scare I passed my flintlock and percussion long rifles to friends. Of course then I got better. I was able to score a deer hunter just before covid shutdown and am trying to find a wooden stock instead of comp stock. Is this even possible? Nothing wrong with comp stock, would just like to have traditional wooden.

Deerhunter rifle stocks don't come up for sale too often, at least not that I've seen.
You could contact Traditions in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Maybe they can help.
Keep an eye on ebay, maybe pick up a parts gun.

Now I am just speculating here....
Going over the parts list for that rifle I am struck how they look just like CVA parts....
I bet you could use a CVA Pioneer rifle stock or a Mountain Stalker stock or Bobcat stock. Now I have only seen a few MS stocks in wood, and never seen the Bobcat with one, but I have heard it said there are a few.
Edit to add, after looking it up Ardesa made these rifles. Ardesa made the CVA guns.
They are the same gun parts and should be interchangeable.

Some models like bobcat and mountain stalker have a button tang, not hooked breech tang.
I think the CVA Frontier is a hooked breech tang and maybe would work with a little fitting.
cynthialee, Thanks. Using your info found some Pioneer CVA stocks that you suggested. One is in Arkansas, near where I'm going next month. He will let me drop in barrel to check fit and wedge alignment. Just curious how did you look up the info on Ardesa? Thanks again!
