I am building a Lyman Great Plains flintlock and would like to replace the set triggers with a single pull trigger like found on the Leman trade rifle. Can any of you see any problems with making this change, is there anything I need to look at as far as what I purchase to replace my triggers with? I have built several rifles from parts and always designed my build around single pull triggers, just don't like set triggers, but this kit only comes with the set triggers. I can always redesign the trigger plate, add or subtract metal as needed to make the new design fit, but not sure if there is something special about the way the trigger bar contacts the sear bar on set triggers over single pull.

There is no "mechanical" reason you couldn't go with a single trigger.

Since the trigger is pretty well inlet on the GPR as it comes you can either find a single trigger with a plate larger/longer than the one that comes with the kit, or fill in the inlet and start from scratch.
