I like this style knife and made a few of them for friends..Problem I had is the knives pretty much all looked alike..This one I acid etched the blade and buffed it shiney..Polished the sheephorn handle scales smooth and stained them a medium brown and buffed them semi shiney..Kind of gives it a wooden handle scale look..and the blade almost has a damascus look to it..

THAT'S NEAT! Nice Job Rick  blade is cool ..handle is jus plain purdy! good job!!

I was going to pop off the handles and put on some wooden slab handles..I got the wood from Roy and its from either your gun or Swampys...Cant remember whos he said it was from..Oh which reminds me I once again got to fondle Swampys stock before he did..

""I was going to pop off the handles"" Why?? would you do that? unless thepic isn't showin somethin..it's looks purdy from here! had'a been swampy's stock (again... :hmm: )...Roy's only got shavins from mine.... :haha:

All the knives I`ve made have had antler, bone or something like that..I`d like to try wooden slab handles for a change..

I see! well bet it'll be a dandy! (save the handles!!I mite be able to afford them...someday!) :rotf: make sure ya post pics when yer done!

 thats very nice! but, personally i'm still liken the first one bestest! how long you been doin this?? pretty nice!!! :applause:

As far back as I can remember I`ve was always getting knives and trying to regrind them or putting different handles on them..Made a few file knives with my neighbor and as luck would have it I met John and he has taken me under his wing and taught me how to make a better knife..I found it is better to give them away or trade them for other items..

VERY NICE!!! NICE craftsmanship Rick, I really like the way you add style to your projects. It's nice to see a little more jimping from you fellow bladesmiths. One can add alot of class by this technique. The way you have used simple lines and materials, and combined them with a few extra details have raised this piece to a level above most. Paying attention to details in your past has definately paid dividends in your knife making abilities, keep up the good work,

Rick I like all the kinves!
What are the handles on the last one you pictured made of?
That is the same knife in both of the last two pics, right?
You just stained it and changed the color didn't you? :hmm:
The grain is what caught my eye!

Same knife ,same handles..handle material is elk anter slabs..I redyed the handles and lightly buffed the blade
