This is a barrel from a Savage model 210 shogun. It has a fully rifled 12 gauge bore with a 1:36” twist. I shortened the barrel, cut the breech off, thread for and fit a breechplug. It is 7/8-14 and fits great. No other holes have been drilled. The bore is in excellent shape. Shiny with 8 groove shallow type rifling. Barrel length is 19” from breechplug face to muzzle.

I was planning on having an oddball little heavy flintlock carbine built incorporating this barrel, but finding a builder that wants to create anything ‘different’ has proved impossible, so it’s for sale.

This comes with a Full Bore size (as opposed to used w/wad size) double cavity 525gr hollow based shuttlecock type slug mold from M-P molds. Should make a great close in rifle for a pipe hitter.

I will try to post more pictures later, but as of now my phone is nearly out of memory and on the fritz.

Dandy build idea Dusty Traveler, the twist would also be ideal for accurate patched round ball shooting as well.
If I was younger, still building & able to hunt big game I would snap it up & make into a canoe length flint French Fusil.
Consideration, maybe the barrel specs would work with the barrel channel of a Brown Bess stock ?

Hi RS.

That was my plan. I was going to use a military-ish style stock for a minimum amount of drop. Lock would have been a Chambers or Kibler round faced lock for superior operation.

The barrel inlet might be close on a pre-carved stock or kit, supplier might cut channel to fit your barrel.
Consider going slow & doing the build yourself, of experienced builders on the forum that
would happy to help you through any build issues.
Just an old big bore shooter & builder reliving old times at your expense 😁
