Does anyone know where I can get a holster that fits the ROA W/ target sights?

TIA

COD

COD,
I have a ROA flap holster, by Ruger. A few scuffs from laying around but never used. Contact me if you are interested.

I'd be interested myself sir.

I have two ROAs, currently I use a holster from Oklahoma Leather. It isn't intended for use with the ROA but works pretty well.

Racin,
I have contacted COD re the holster but if he does not take it you can have the next shot at it.
Mark

You did exactly as I expected sir. He asked first so he gets first dibs as far as I am concerned.

Mark, I want to thank you for the offer. I should have been more clear in my original post...What I am looking for is suggestions for an open top holster like a slim jim style that will fit the ROA w/ a 7.5 inch barrel and target sites.

Not a problem. If you don't find what you are looking for, let me know. I have 2 of the Ruger holsters. Happy holidays.

I bought mine from Track of the Wolf .

If I may add to Cabofdoom's question, I'm also looking for a holster for my Ruger Old Army.

Will a holster designed for a Remington 1858 fit a Ruger Old Army of equal barrel length? There are very limited holster options available for the ROA, but most all holster makers offer something for the 1858.

A holster for the Colt Dragoon will generally fit the Ruger, as the frame size is about the same. Barrel length on the Colt replica is 7.5 inches.

The Ruger is basically a super blackhawk frame size-wise, but designed for black powder.

Hope this helps.

This weapon does not have adjustable sights. As an alternative though to a non-ROA holster or an original ROA flap holster don't rule out a custom made. Bone up on your leather work then get after it  Or find a maker, there are plenty.

This holsters belt loop has a very slight pitch angle so I can use it either strong side or cross draw, 5 1/2"

Yep. Good point. I had an open top holster custom made for a 3rd Model Dragoon two years ago, and I just checked the fit of a 7 1/2" ROA in it - there's just a bit of extra room at the top but it's very close.

I took a trip to Cabela's today and found a holster that fit, with a little adjustment.

I had to modify the holster to accommodate the adjustable sights.

Here are the labels for the holster and belt.

The holster was $39.99 and the belt was $19.99. All in all, I think it looks pretty good. And it's comfortable too.

You're right, it's really close! It's been my experience with all of the disciplines that I love to shoot (IDPA,USPSA,Knockdown Steel, and Black Powder), that the generalities of frame size and barrel length are the main determining factors in whether or not you'll get a proper fit from a leather or neoprene holster. This goes for semi-autos like a .45 ACP, or revolvers like Ruger's GP-100 that were essentially built from the Old Army-size frame. :)

Nice looking holster! I have the same brand for my black powder revolvers! Looks like you can also use it for Colt 1873 Peacemakers and all of their clones too! At least with 7.5 inch tubes  .

Have fun and make smoke!
