That was my first "big" rendezvous and the longest, I was there for 10 days. It was a hoot, never a dull moment. It was a beautiful site. Weather was fine after the first couple of rainy days. I was disappointed that there were no gun makers, I had hoped to meet a few but I guess it's like "Ben Tyler" said in the "Mountainmen", "now the traders don't want to leave the plains". Actually there were lots of traders, just no gun makers.
I shot poorly but still managed to collect $35.00 in prize money and the wife did about the same. It was a very well laid out trail walk of 25 shots and in five days of shooting only one perfect score was turned in. That indicates that it was challenging enough to weed out the luck shots.
All in all I feel it was a very well organized and run event in an ideal location, even if no gun makers saw fit to grace us with their presence.
