Someone mentioned a tape by Ron Ehlert on building powder horns. Can anyone give me more info on this? Is it pretty good? Where can I get one? Also has anyone seen his tapes on gun building?
Thanks,

here is a site that has both videos you are looking for. I have not seen the on about gun building, so I can't comment on it. I have seen the powder horn making video, it is very good with a lot of information. Now since I have been making horns for 9 years I found some of the information could be tweeked a little and I found some other ways that work better for me. If you are just starting out making horns, this is a good place to start. There are also video's with Hershel House building a rifle, I have both, Very excellent video's, but rifle building and me wouldn't be good. I would end up with a box of parts and some of the nicest firewood in the county :shocking: I hope this helps you.

I recently sold the R.E. Horn tape to another fellow. It is a very informative viewing by a knowledgeable craftsman. As far as presentation, Ron's a fine craftsman. Actually, I found it very helpful.

As far as the gunbuilding tapes, they are actually kit building tapes, using two of Jim Chambers kit guns. They are very good for a beginner starting out with a kit. I recently sold them also.

I have met and spoken with Ron at the CLA, etc., and he is very forthcoming with his vast knowledge of the trades.
