Poked around Gander Mountain today and found some round balls made by Bullet Weight,Aldin NE.
They had 2 hundred of them a couple of years ago which I bought and used, seem to be fine, and then they didn't have anymore until I saw these today.I bought 3 packages,100 to a package, for $4.99 a package, about 1/2 the price you find them at retail.Forgot to mention they are swaged.
Salesman said they make weights for fishing, but thats all he knew about them. They look and feel fine, but haven,t weighed them.
Anybody ever heard of them or used any of their round balls?

I bought some from Gander mountain 2 years ago and I think they were the same brand that you just mentioned. I didn't have much luck with them. The weight variance were quite a bit, but what I noticed most of all was that they really varied in roundness, I mean you could see it with the naked eye. I ended up checking them with a dial caliper and my eyes were right they were out of round. Luckily my bullet mould came in 2 weeks later so I melted them down and used them to cast my own roundballs.

Indiana, that's all I used for the first couple of years I shot. Then they quit carrying them. I bought the more expensive brands and got some cast balls from a friend. All in all I couldn't see a difference. In fact contrary to what was found by another on this thread I found them to be quite consistant in weight. Never found more than a couple that were out of round. They shot quite consistant as far as I'm concerned. Just bought two hundred more now that their back in stock. squint

Well it's possible I got a bad batch or maybe they were dropped on the floor' if you have good luck with them I'd keep using them. The local Gander Mountain is selling them again.

I`ve used these off and on for years, when ever our local gander store had them in stock. I`ve found them to be very consistent in weight, on like the national brands that I`ve tried. now I cast everthing I shoot.

I took a good look at them and coud not find them as being out of round just using my eye's,and don't have a scale to weigh them, but the 2 hundred I used before seemed to be fine as long as I did my part.I think they are a good deal as far as I can tell. Thanks to everyone for the input. This is a great place to get opinions about sometthing like this.
