Are these rubber muzzle caps safe to shoot off as claimed or do they need to be removed prior to shooting ? Is there any difference in point of impact or accuracy ? It's always so damp when hunting in the mornings , do these make a difference ? What are your thoughts ? -Thanks

I just keep muzzle down, but a lot of folks use electrical tape on "modern" rifles without issue. The pressure in the bore should blow it off before the projectile reaches it

I've been using condoms for years, they work just fine.
I first saw condoms being used in a training film about Australian gunners using 25 Pounder gun-howitzers. in the desert during WWII, but they were to keep the sand out.
Condoms were, so I’ve been told, also used on machine guns in the jungle.
Interestingly bank guards in India used to have corks in the muzzles of their double shotguns, particularly during the monsoon season, sometimes with strings attached, this gave rise to the unknowing thinking that the guns were not loaded
