I put down the rifle today to finish my Rum horn. It's 3 inches high with a 2.5 inch base.
I antiqued it with Old Bones, the spout/base/top lugs are pine stained with some Larul Mtn Maple. The scrimshaw say, "A slip of the foot you may soom recover but a slip of the tongue you may never get over."

thanks for looking.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I have made a number of rum horns and working on 5 more. I plug one end so ye got a cup, then shave off beeswax slivers with a knife into it and then take a heat gun to it and kind of slosh it around till its all sealed up good. Then wax the other plug good and install. Then melt wax on the plugs where the horn and wood meet.Fill 'er with water a couple of days to make sure it doesn't leak.Beeswax stays somewhat flexible and tacky where parrafin gets to be brittle, and a horn bein' horn will flex some and just maybe a piece of parrafin will flake off and clog up your pour hole then you cain't git a drank! :v

Lined with beeswax. I melted it, poured it in and put the spout plug in, swirled it around a bit to coat everything (even top), and dumped out the excess.

Thanks for all the replies!
