Scissors Molds

I'm new to all this gooofy stuff, but love it already. I just bought a Carolina Fowler from TOTW and would like to cast some round ball for it. I'm inrqued by the primitive nature of the scissor molds. Any advise, tips or info would be greatly apreceated.
