dang things, I was shooting clays at my house, I reached down to load a clay in the machine and EEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOUCH!!!!!...sucker got my thumb, It swelled and cant hardly move it. Hate them things. Down here they are only like an inch and half long, tiny, but pack a good sting.

Never even seen one. Worst we have around here are black widow spiders - I've seen two in my life, brown recluse spiders - I've know one person that had a bad reaction to a bite from one, and white-faces hornets. These guys are about the size of AAA batteries and have driven me off roofs, caused me to jump off ladders and nailed me when opening garage doors. Hurt like h*ll and cause your muscles to swell up and lock stiff.

Ah don't kno bout scorpions in yer neck o the woods, but out har in Arizonie we's gots all sizes of um.

1 1/2 inchers are pritty common but the ones we gots to watch out fer are only bout 3/4 ta 1 inch long an they are almost transparent. No, that's bout as big as this breed gets.
They have tha most powerful sting an can send a person ta the hospitel.
Tha bigger ones jus cause a lot o pain and profanity.

Don't kno 'bout yers but out har ye can hunt um at nite with a black-light. They all fluoresce so they are easy ta see and smash!! :curse:

Scorpion sting severity really seems to vary from person to person. I get hit two or three times a year and it hurts for about a minute then it's gone but the spot will be numb for a day. I never experience swelling. My wife got hit on the foot a year ago and had a horrible reaction, foot swelled up and gave her fits for a couple of weeks. Wasps don't bother me much either but the damn fire ant bites are real bad - they get full of pus and hurt for several days. The other problem is you never get only one fire ant bite.

Had a brown recluse bite my on the side of my head about this time last year . Left an open sore and the surrounding tissue turned black and died . Was sick as a dog for about a month . Just last week the doctor sprayed the area for the third time with liquid nitrogeon to freeze the area and kill off the last of the dead skin . The scar is in the hair so not noticable but it's taken a year to heal . It was worse than the snakebite . Never seen a scorpion .
