I am new to the whole "craftsman" thing and would like to try my hand at horn building AND scrimshaw. I have several blanks and lots of recources..just notta darn clue on how to do it..lol I can prolly manage to build a nice powder horn..but the scrimshaw is another thing..I'm not an artist by any means, and ideas from you guys would be most helpful. ALSO..I do have a couple of junk horns I can practice on.

Lots of info right here , just search this forum for previous topics. When I decided to first make the French Pulverin horn, I contacted Horner75 to pick his brain and he pointed me to the right tools and such. I to am not an artist but I think I should be able to scrim something halfway decent on my horn and having the right tools helps a lot.

Swampy!....That's the reason I can't remember anything lately!.....Good excuse to tell the War Department anyway!..... :idunno:

Rick....

I would love to see that site but, I can't get the link to work!

I have tried scrimshaw a couple of times on a small scale without good luck. I think it may have been my scribe and not having a clue where to start!:shocked2:
