Tell me that wuz the grand prize. :hatsoff:
Only in my dreams!! :haha:
Nope, no prize. I know the guys who made the stuff, and I finally turned loose of the green today.
One guy made the horns, and another guy made the pouches. I've known them both for many years. Both of them are members of a ML club that's been around since 1966, and I'm pretty sure both of them were original members.
The one who made the horns invited me to bring all my parts and pieces to his shop about 15 years ago and build myself a rifle. He guided me through the entire process, and the only thing he did was the critical stuff like drilling barrel pin and lock screw holes. During the finishing process on the gun I made a horn, a patch knife, a starter, and a loading block. I ended up with a very nice .32 flinter that anybody would be proud to own.
The guy who made the pouches is a relative of the guy who made the horns. He is an A number 1 feller too.
I wanted to post these pictures mostly because I have so much respect for the guys who made the horns and pouches. They are a credit to the ML world, and after they are gone there will never be any more like them.
I'm proud to own their stuff, and I'll have it till the day I die. :winking:
