Driving past a neighborhood that had the trash out I had to stop and salvage two broken Early American type chairs. I take the spindle legs, cut and use them for file handles. The smaller arm and back spindles are used for patch knives, pouring ladle handles, shot dipper handles, engraver handles and any other item needing a similar round type handle.
Anybody have another personal favorite application of a simple “SCROUNGED” item that is used in the pursuit of this muzzleloading addiction???

Death Wind,
I don't know if this applys...I save
tuna fish and sardine cans to keep small parts
in and to soak and clean small parts in. I also
save the small 4oz mushroom cans and make
cardboard and wax candles. I don't throw away
the canister that my 35mm film comes in either.
snake-eyes :hmm:

Nuthin' remarkable.....just the obvious;
*salvaged a leather jacket from a burned out house, which now serves as vice jaw padding, flint leathers, horn post wrap, antler mount skull cover and various patches and whangs.
*amputated and disassembled brass fittings from old lamps and gaslights reemployed as horn spouts, strap mounts and filling ports.
*cut my patch knife out of an old, heavy gauge planer blade from a tablesaw.
*fitted out my shooting box from a resurrected antique tool chest found curbside [very sweet]
..on...and on
....made or found wins out over storebought every time
