Yup, I just dribbled melted bees wax from a candle on a leaking plug seam one time.
Rubbed it in real good with my thumb an wiped off the excess with a cloth. It's been good fer years now.

I seal my horn plugs when I make the horn. My method is to shape the plug to the horn with a 2-3 degree taper on the plug. Fit the plug so that it goes 1/2 way into the horn. Then I put the plug into my oven set at 180 begrees for two or more hours, add the horn for one hour more and then rub the plug with beeswax and insert it quickly and fully into the horn. This allows the horn to conform to the plugs and traps the wax in any gaps that might be left from a lack of perfect fit. :hmm: To seal an already made horn I make sure there is NO powder in the horn. (An alcohol rinse helps with any fine residue ). Then after all alcohol has dried. I heat the horn with a hair drier and rub beeswax into any problem area. :hmm: If the horn has a crack in it that needs sealing I use "old fashioned " super glue on fine cracks or a mix of epoxy and horn sanding dust for larger cracks. :idunno:
