Got a nice small buck last day of the WI blackpowder season. 40-42 pace shot double lung with a caywood english fowler. .595 ball 75grs powder. Exit hole too! I'm mothballin all of my modern rifles for deer hunting. gotta love the black stuff.

Glad to hear someone else gets pass thru's.

This is my first season with a smoothie.

Got 3 so far all passed right on thru.

Have not hit a major bone yet but my .62 smoothie shure has put the fun back in hunting.

Going to try some 7 1/2's on the local quail population during the next two weeks.

Should be alot of fun.

My first deer was with a Wilson 24ga. Shot a doe at less than 22 yrds, In the shoulder. The ball was against the hide on the other side. I read an article that round balls rarely pass thru, but my 20ga sure did.

I've had pass thru's every time I've taken an animal(whitetail deer & black bear) with .54 round balls. I've been waiting for a chance to see what the ball looks like when it doesn't exit, but haven't been able to recover one yet.
