A gutted out Jumbo Sharpie makes a great pan powder stash when you need more than what the small brass one will hold when one has a range day.
Pull off cap,Unscrew wick holder, empty and clean.
There you have it. no need to carry large amounts of 4 f around.
Will hold an ample quantity to refill the smaller brass ones.

Could be quite the surprise when you or someone else pulls the cap off expecting to be able to write something..... I’d just carrry a second small flask. Don’t care for surprises when shooting.

Well being the fact that I keep it in my range box and I know its there..the likelihood ....?

Well I know I have Sharpies in a lot of places, including my range box (for marking targets for example). I just envision myself in a forgetful moment, or someone else, pulling the cap expecting to find the felt writing tip and instead getting a 100 grains or more of ffff. If a repurposed Sharpie works for you, great.

I guess you could wrap it in tape or something else to mark it.

If you look on amazon for "plastic vials" there are lots of choices. I often pre measure my powder at home and put into plastic vials. Those go into a zip lock bag in case they open up in transport, Then neatly into a plastic ammo box. There is a guy that I met at a local BP shoot who had glass ones that were in a nice wooden box with pockets to place the vials.

Hope you don't get a bigger surprise, static electricity.

That might be a neat trick considering Sharpie pen bodies are anti-static. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to have it produce static shock considering the ink is alcohol based.

It's a marker not a lighter.

Fellas , It just a suggestion to be able to carry extra 4f in a pinch without dropping a $20 on an additional pan primer.
Look up cheap in the Dictionary and you will find my picture...

Best to all....sussexmuzllodr

Next time at the range pick up a fired bottle neck cartridge case, .243 comes to mind, and whittle a plug. Brass and wood, period correct. If u r worried about the head stamp and primer, cut that end off and flatten it.

Centerfire brass is not only an economical way to store a small amount powder, but can also be used inexpensive fixed powder measures. For example, if memory serves me correctly, I have some 44 Mag brass that measures just over 30 grains of fff powder (31 grains by weight) and I know I have a cut down (a tubing cutter does a good job) 06 piece of brass that measures 57 grains of ff. I have other calibers of brass with the charge marked on them. Makes it easy to have fixed measures for each gun. I use a powder scale to 'calibrate', but suggest comparing charge with your volume measure.
