Hello again, And thanks again for all who have helped others on here...I have a 1858 by armi flli pietta. serial # is in the 18,000 range and i was wondering if that low # made my gun collectable or a little more valuable..[just wondering] thank you and good day...Bob

Not more valuable in my 37 years experience with lots of muzzleloading revolvers. Maybe if you can find someone who collects them.

For example, I have had various four digit serial number (no serial number pre-fix, no barrel warning) stainless Ruger Old Armies in excellent to new condition in the original box with all papers, almost nobody cared. Same with several Ruger Old Army stainless and blued Bi-Centennial roll marked barrel guns.

I like low serial numbered percussion replica revolvers but the majority of folks will not pay a premium for a low number.

Another consideration is that in general the newer percussion replica revolvers are actully more authentic and better quality.

Your mileage may vary.

thanks for the reply Robert. I was just wondering if it made a difference. i seem to never sell anyway and one day my son will have them all. I"ve run into some good deals lattly and bought alot of things as of late. sometime i like to hear what others have to say..Thanks Bob

If it was serial #1 it would likely be of value and there are some who collect certain numbers. I have a friend who collects firearms with serial #99 for example and has been known to pay extra for the number. But generally, low-ish numbers don't translate into money.
