I have a rifle that I sighted in and was wondering if anyone "permanently" sets their rear sights, so that it will not move if accidentally knocked. It seems tight enough now but I didn't know if there is a good method of making it even more resistant to any shifting. Appreciate any ideas.

Forgot to say it is an open primitive style iron sight. Drifted it a little to where I wanted it. Thought about using a puch to anchor it but wasn't sure. Thanks

I have to smack mine with a hammer and drift punch for windage so I guess it's pretty set as is.

Nothing beats fixed sights for ruggedness once they are regulated the way you want them.

As far as a method to permanently set a screw -adjustable rear sight I guess Loc-tite or epoxy. You may be able to drip on thin CA glue to lock the threads - but if they are already oily none of the above will be completely solid.
