I am in the process of shaping my latest rifles buttstock, it is a TOW Issac Haines kit with a lot of extra wood everywhere. I have the full sized plans but they don't give a cross section drawing on the buttstock like they do on every other part of the rifle. I found some RCA pictures of an Issac Haines rifle, it appears the sides of the buttstock are almost flat on the lock side from the butt plate to the transition to the wrist and just follow the slight side curvature of the side of the buttplate. Am I seeing this correctly?

hi Eric,
Here are some photos that might help. The rifle is based on the original in the PA State Museum.

I believe the TOW plans are base on a contemporary gun by Scorsone, which does not accurately represent any Haines rifle.
