Finally got to range today and a young couple was just finishing up. I noticed right away that the young lady of the couple was watching me very intently as I brought my muzzleloader out of the case. She asked if she could watch me load and shoot and of course I agreed. I asked her if she would like to shoot a few rounds but she declined. Her boyfriend told me she had just been through a shooting course. She added she was very interested in muzzleloaders and thanked me for letting her observe while I prepared the rifle and shot. Needless to say that made my day to be able to share a sport that I just took up about a year ago myself. Hopefully she will get her a gun before deer season this year as that is her goal.

Maybe she might wise up, loose her current boyfriend and let you become her new hook up. Not a bad deal! Keep yer barrel clean!

I don't know, 56 is gettin' pretty close to the curmudgeon stage of life. Movin' to Tennessee at that time of life seems to have caused that change in me. Young women ain't near as much fun as they used to be. I'm tired of talkin' about the Senior Prom. :rotf: Maybe them California blondes knew a trick. :hmm:

I've also noticed women watching me shoot my muzzleloader :winking: . Gee whiz , I thought they were looking at me :haha: . I'll bet thier boyfriends feel kinda inadequite , shooting thier girlie man centerfire rifles :rotf: .

Girls and Muzzleloading eh? Yup, the two of them go together real well.

In fact, the two of them sometimes go together too well. For instance, I've known a girl for over 40 years now and muzzleloading is one of the things she's really "into".
Trouble is though, a lot of what she loads into her muzzle seems to stay behind. Well, not all of it. Some stays in front, and some is on the sides....

I know...I'm bad :(

:shake: Zonie you ARE Bad :rotf:

Zonie,
I have the same problem with my black powder partner. He has fluffed right along with me. Of course, he blames it on my cooking. I think old age just isn't for sissies. We get rounder and slower.

well, the guy with the coolest tools gets the girl, and anyone can shoot a centerfire, but real men use rocks.

didn't you high school gym teacher tell you anything?

MSW - do weel men use rocks to get their girls? I thought they used clubs. Trouble is, either wocks or clubs scrambles their brains too much and they're no fun to be with then.

Sparsons, if you ever see that gal again, insist that she shoot a ML. Then let her try loading it under your instruction. You'll get her hooked into this hobby for life.

I was just surprised by my girl.......
Quote; "I cant wait until Sunday, I'm coming out to the range with you, that black powder sounds like fun, I want a try."
Methinks YeeHaa!
Then I remember, only Metallic Silhouette this Sunday....... :( so Met Sil it is, until the next fortnight. Hopefully I can keep her keen until then. :hmm:
Smokey.

My wife enjoys muzzleloaders more than her centerfires.Heck, she got her first deer with a muzzlloader.

Paul,
I wont even think about takin' her hunting. I took her game fishin' with me six years back, only once, she nailed a tuna bigger than I ever caught (to this day!) and I'm yet to live it down.....I have to look at that photo of her prize fish EVERY DAY!
Nope, no chance of that.....ever! :shake:
Smokey.
