I have Pedersoli 1858 Remington competition revolvers. These have different lock work, different barrels, different bore and chamber diameters from their standard versions. Many years ago I handled an 1858 whose barrel and loading lever assembly had been rendered into a belly gun. I am considering shortening the barrel of one of mine to such belly gun configuration. But were the barrel shortened from the muzzle, the barrel's final rate of twist changes. I suspect bullets (Lee's 456-200) will be unstable when twist is slowed AND muzzle velocity is lowered.
Can anyone identify who can alter the revolver barrel-lever assembly?
