Sure am glad a veteran and Moderator at that asked the question. Now I don't feel so stoopid :haha:
So -- what IS an Anno 9?

I believe he is talking about a Model 1777 musket of French manufacture. Pedersoli makes them nowadays.
I have a 1766 Charleville of the same caliber but I have not shot a lot of shot rounds through it. I am interested in the question and replies of experienced gunners as well.

Thank you for the clarification  In my line of work, "Anno" means "year" -- I knew gunpowder and "gonnes" had been around a while, but didn't think THAT far back :rotf:

the shot pattern might be OK for 8-12 yds...farther than that its a crap shoot,,,
the pistol was built for close range using a patched ball or perhaps buckshot.

Boy, I sure know that I would want to be further than that if I were shooting crap. That stuff can splatter in all directions when hit with a load of shot or even with a big old round ball! :rotf:
