Got to shoot my new TC Hawken .50 today. Shot twice with 70 grs. and a 490 prb. Then changed to a 60 gr and 490 prb and finished shooting with that load. Shot 5 times with the 60 gr load and made 5 bulls eyes. This Hawken is a real shooter, straight out of the box. Bought it off the broker for 305.00 best deal I ever got! I'm shooting with the same home made .490 balls and the walmart ticking I have been shooting in the rest of my guns.

They do make some very good shooting rifles.
I have several of them.
The more you shoot it, the more you will like it.
Makes a great deer hunting gun too.
Is a nice picture of you shooting it.

Aim small...Miss small.

I have 3 of the TC Hawken's, and every one shoots better than I can. To bad they are not being made any longer.

cci #11's, i a'nt tried #10s even if i wanted to i couldn't, you can't buy any caps anywhere around here, just glad i bought 5 tins of the #11 when i had the chance.theres no powder, caps, patches, round balls or lube in any of the small towns around me. the closest big town is tupelo, thats where elvis is from. the sporting goods stores dont carry any muzzle loading goods or walmart. the only way to get the goods are online.

They're great rifles IMO.
I have only one in .54.
Bought it used and re-did the wood and blackened all the brass. She shoots 'bout everything I ram down the bore with great accuracy.
Nice pic!

Without this internet we'd be in a world of do do! It's so nice when the "Brown Truck" pulls up.

A very long story---- sorry. Many years ago I used to take my dad and my son for an early season squirrel hunt & camping trip to the mountains of VA. every fall. One trip we arrived late in the day and while I was busy with dinner asked my dad to put up a target about 35 yd. from the truck tailgate. He used his pocket knife to stick a target up as requested and said "you better not hit my knife". Will after dinner I loaded up my grey squirrel load of PRB and 35g 2f. I had just installed a new sight on my kit build .50 Hawken TC and wanted to test it. Well after the shot Dad said "you missed the whole thing". "Would you mind checking while I reload". "Well you dead centered the black" he said. I fired again and he said " well you didn't touch her this time". "Would you mind taking the target down and digging those two balls out " I asked. Sure enough I had placed two balls on top of each other in one hole. Dad said "I would never have believed that thing would shoot like that" We went on to have a great hunt and one of the memories I will carry always.

I do not have one at present but I had one of the first to hit Austin Texas. I could get 3 inch groups at 100 yards. I can assure you that I was the reason the groups were not smaller. Geo. T.

my first hawken was a percussion .50 cal. cougar,it had the nice wood and the stainless metal.for some crazy reason i couldn't hit a target big as a barn. then this guy came along and made a price way more that i paid for it so being a dumb kid i sold it.this hawken i have now will stay with me.now i'm looking at a couple more both wall hangers that have never been shot.

the only thing i tried was the .490 prb and it done perfect. i have cast about 2 gallons of .490 balls so this will be about all i will use.
