i am new to this fourm so my question may have been asked many times before but here ti is .i justgot a 12 gauge and am wondering what type of wads can you use. and how many to use. i am experimenting with cardboard with not to bad results. any ideas? :confused:

There are many types of wads to use. Fortunately for the twelve you can get different wads even at a modern shop.
Circle Fly makes thick felt wads, thin card wads for over the shot, and nitro wads, which are thick cards and very stiff. Go to[url] www.circlefly.com[/url]. They have every gauge that has been made in America.

I have had good results with a thin card over the powder, a felt wad with the edges lubed over that and a thin card over the shot. Some don't like the felt wad and just put two or three cards over the powder. The same could be achieved with a nitro wad buy itself over the powder. Put only a thin card over the shot. I would advise staying away from the modern plastic wads for several reasons.
