Definitely Damascus.
Definatley Not' Damascus' just 'twist' just as good just not the same. Rose Brothers where at 13 Newton street Birmingham1860 to 1870 held patents for barrel making had a large bussiness with varios premises . Gun & pistol barrel makers including Chasspott Brls . Probably pre date 1860 , Newton Street being just one of them .

What barrel characteristic did Rose Brothers patent?
Thanks,
.
According to Bailey & Nie . The Rose Brothers Where granted patent number 13.299 of 24 Oct 1850 for making twisted gun barrels . How it dosn't say presumably by some forging system by machinery.
