Should I reline it?

On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate it as a 3 While I have no connection to the gun I hate to just put it in the junk pile. It was built in 1971 by someone who cared. If you got it for a song would you reline it?

Your picture didn't post, but I'd say as it's a recent manufacture (1971 is recent in my book) I'd look for a replacement barrel. Unless Bobby Hoyt can re line it cheaper than a new barrel... I'm sure barrel prices have gone up in the last year.. everything else has.

I would fix it. I have re-rifled, or freshened rifle barrel's, it isn't that difficult. Don't toss it, if it comes to that, send it here, I'll pay the shipping.

I would have Mr. Hoyt do a rebore on the barrel and make it like new. In the south we would call that pistol a "bear pistol".

Yea, now that I can see it, I too vote for a reline from Mr Hoyt. Before i saw pics I was afraid you had a cva pistol. What you have is a beauty.

If the gun is worth saving, then the barrel is worth saving. Even then if you dislike the gun the barrel can be used in something else.
