fire bag 009 REDUCED.jpg

This is my original 18th century fire steel.
Keith.

Bag of fluff, brown bag with back up kit and smoke, tinder box, flint, compass/ sundial, tobacco pouch, tamper and pipe, steel in tinderbox
Other bag, my main kit, tinderbox, candle stub, tinder tube , hemp string to make fluff from, iron pyrite. That’s an HBC box with burning glass, I carry it all the time but I Think it’s post 1820s

here is my version of a small hand made tinderbox with candle holder. I beat it out of sheet copper and crudely soldered it together. not an exact copy of any originals i could find. i want something small for my fire bag. im thinking its better than the shoe polish can.

Here’s my fire kit the tin is from some type of candy mint it’s nice because it didn’t have any lettering on it so after a few rounds of char there is no evidence of it’s sordid past.
