Does"sidelock only" mean no revolvers.
Most of the posts here are about revolvers.

If it's a modern muzzleloading handgun, it goes in the modern muzzleloading section...

If it's a preflintlock style handgun, it goes in the preflintlock section...

All other handguns will go in the pistol section, this includes revolvers...

And the LeMat revolver goes in here too, even though it has a smoothbore shotgun tube to go along with the rifled barrel... :winking:

We don't have a clue ourselves. :crackup:

Every time we add a category, we open a can of worms. I've changed the description of the Pistol Forum three times. I think we're done.

This section is for: Flintlock, Side-lock Percussion and Percussion Revolvers.

No Pre-Flint or Inline. Inline means the cap is positioned directly behind the barrel. And no, we don't think a percussion revolver (1860 Army) fits this definition. (See example below)
